Citroen has unveiled pricing for its second-generation C3 Aircross, and it’s a game-changer. Starting at £20,240 for petrol and just £22,990 for the electric version,
the Citroen e-C3 Aircross claims the title of the cheapest new electric SUV in the UK—beating even the Renault 5 by a fiver. Built on Stellantis’ budget-friendly Smart Car platform, this family-oriented crossover offers up to seven seats and serious value.
Prices and Specs Unveiled
The e-C3 Aircross undercuts the electric Vauxhall Frontera (£23,495) by £500, offering a practical SUV at a bargain price. Petrol models begin at £20,240, while the mild-hybrid version starts at £23,740. Two trims are available—Plus and Max—with the latter adding a £2,000 premium. Standard kit includes alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, and climate control. Max trim brings extras like LED rear lights, a black roof, blind-spot monitoring, and heated seats—all for less than a base Nissan Qashqai. Add a third row of seats to petrol or hybrid models for just £765. Orders are open now, with deliveries starting late summer 2025.
Design: Simple Yet Bold
Drawing cues from the Citroen Oli concept, the new C3 Aircross sports a minimalist look with a fresh lighting signature rolling out across Citroen’s lineup. It shares its boxy shape and tech with the Vauxhall Frontera and Fiat Grande Panda, thanks to the shared platform. A unique touch is Citroen’s ‘head-up display’—instruments reflected onto a dashboard cowling rather than the windshield—also seen in the smaller C3.
Powertrain Options
The lineup includes petrol, mild-hybrid, and electric variants. The base petrol is a 99bhp 1.2-litre turbo with a six-speed manual, while the hybrid pairs a 1.2-litre petrol with a 48-volt system and six-speed auto. The e-C3 Aircross features a 111bhp electric motor and a 44kWh LFP battery, delivering a modest 188-mile range. It supports 100kW DC charging, hitting 20-80% in under 30 minutes. A longer-range version with 250 miles is due later in 2025, promising more versatility.
A Budget-Friendly Family Hauler
With its low price, decent tech, and optional seven-seat layout, the 2025 Citroen C3 Aircross redefines affordability in the small SUV class. It may not match rivals’ range or power, but for families seeking value—especially in electric form—it’s tough to beat. Citroen’s latest proves you don’t need to break the bank for a practical crossover.
